MCMB 16x60 Adsorbent

Lead and Heavy Metal Removal

Carbon

MCMB is an activated carbon used not only for removal of chlorine, chloramines, and VOCs, but also has an active capacity to remove heavy metals.

MCMB 16x60 is a granular activated coconut shell carbon that provides a high performance alternative for reducing organic and heavy metals contaminants such as Atrazine, Lindane and Toxaphene, Lead, Mercury and Cadmium.

The surface-modified carbon media is a highly porous media that is impregnated with covalently bonded functional groups to impart a unique chemisorption capability. Due to this unique design, the product is able to employs three modes of action for maximum capacity and kinetics:

1. Adsorption of contaminants onto the carbon surface

2. Absorption into the deeper pores of the media though the use of Van Der Waals forces

3. Chemisorption with ion exchange-like kinetics and capacities.

The media is also designed to remove aesthetics in water as it relates to taste with chlorine and chloramines.

MCMB 16x60 is intended for use in:

  • Various residential water filter devices.

  • Municipal & Industrial water treatment

  • Mining wastewater; Landfill barriers

  • Drinking water POE/POU systems;

  • Aquaculture;

  • Soil remediation for heavy metal contaminants.
