Mineral Absorbent Medias

Minerals are typically inorganic substances that can be found naturally in our environment throughout the globe. Some minerals are quite common through out the globe, and can be found in the rocks formations and soils we see everyday. These common minerals, including Calcium and Magnesium, and are carried into our water sources through rain, which dissolves the inorganic minerals into our water ways and ground water supplies. Water with higher concentrations may be referred to as “hard” water.

In high amounts, these minerals can be cause for concern related to health effects in humans and animals. However, they more commonly be problematic as they accumulate and deposit themselves in our water supply as scale. This can cause issues with home pipes, water fixtures, industrial equipment, or manufacturing by introducing scale contaminants.

These inorganic minerals can be removed through the use of water treatment systems leveraging specialized medias to help adsorb the minerals. The output or process is sometimes referred to a “soft” water as the hard scale minerals are removed from the water.

Whether its a small undercounter or counter top system, a whole house systems, or a large scale system for industrial applications, Surfatas offers a wide variety of medias that used in almost all types of water filters to help manage your mineral requirements
