IXR-NS Adsorbent
Nitrate Removal
Exchange Resin
The IXR-NS is a uniquely developed strong base anion exchange resin that has a high affinity in removing Nitrates and Nitrites in potable water.
Nitrates can be found in water from both naturally occurring sources found in soils, animal waste , and from enhanced soils used for agricultural purposes. As such, nitrate sources are extensive in most areas and can find their way into water easily.
While low levels of nitrates in water are typically permitted, higher levels can be of concern, leading to adverse health effects. While children under the age of 6 months may be at higher risk related to “blue baby syndrome”, adults may be exposed to other risks related to thyroid disease, diabetes, and certain types of cancers.
IXR-NS media has been designed specifically to address the Nitrate / Nitrite issue, and has an exceptionally high affinity to remove both from drinking water. The media is typically used in vessels, from large treatment plants, to point of entry systems, or in point of use cartridges for drinking water, but can also be used in a variety of ways commercially or for remediation. It is approved for all drinking water applications and is NSF 61 certified for use.
IXR-NS is intended for use in:
Various residential water filter devices.
Municipal & Industrial water treatment
Mining wastewater; Landfill barriers
Drinking water POE/POU systems;
Aquaculture;
